Counting Pentecost ~ Day Twenty Four

Update May 1st 2018

Today is the 3rd day of the 4th week of seven weeks. Today is the 24th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that which is in the world: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John 2:15-16

Pride goeth before destruction

“But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments. Matt 23:5

Did these phylactery wearers really think they were tricking God? or did they not care? Jesus seems to say that what was most important to them was what their neighbors thought. Maybe they didn’t really believe in God, maybe they believed only in man’s power on earth.

Jesus knew the answer to this question, the Father knew the answer to this question.

Jesus said,

“But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
“When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. – Matt 6:3-6
