I can not remember the last time I read Exodus, and now that I am older with a little more understanding and wisdom, I was able to understand and I guess you can say analyze what these chapters are talking about.
After reading these chapters I did some more research to fully understand everything that was being told and listed by God, and I did…[Read more] -

Hey leilei – I do not have a bible study tool on my PC, but I will look into e-Sword!
I agree with everything you said – the way you explained it made it a little easier for me to understand!-
Hey Julia, Here is a link to the e-Sword. There is also an app for your phone.
https://www.e-sword.net/
All of it is free, however there are some add-ons that you can buy. We have not found it necessary to buy anything, we have more than 40 Bible versions, more than 20 commentaries, more than 10 devotions, more 20 than Bible dictionaries. There…[Read more]

I agree, when I read these verses it’s an encouraging reminder to step out in the faith and be obedient to God.

Leilei,
This was very interesting for me to read mainly because I have such a hard time understanding the genealogy during this section. I think it’s mainly because I have a hard time pronouncing some of the names, which then makes it hard for me to follow along whose is whose sons and what not. However, this was very helpful for me to read and…[Read more]-
Julia – I agree with you about pronouncing the names! That is why I listen to someone reading the Scripture and follow along, it has made it much easier to keep track. Charts also help. Do you have a Bible study tool on your PC? e-Sword is free and is a very good tool for looking at words/names and seeing at a glance where and when and how many…[Read more]

Find ”The Way” through the Bible 6 years ago1st and 2nd readings:
So, I have a question just to clarify what we are supposed to be reading. I wasn’t sure if we were just supposed to read Genesis chapter 1 and then skip to chapter 6, or read everything in between.
Anyways, I absolutely love chapter 1 of Genesis, it is just amazing to read about the creation of everything around us.
In…[Read more]-
I am so grateful that you’re getting so much out of the reading! Yes the reading is always about 5 or so chapters. So the first one was Gen 1-6:8, meaning read everything in between too. Same for each weekly reading.
I have a lot of notes too! Every time I read through the Bible I learn something new! God’s word is so alive and it always seems…[Read more]

Wow, pop. This interesting. I was slightly aware that people lived to be 500 and so on years old, but I did not know that when Noah was 500 years old, the earth 1,456 old! That is crazy!

Leilei and Pop whats your favorite Gospel or Bible verse?
-
With my whole heart have I sought You, inquiring for and of You and yearning for You; Oh, let me not wander or step aside [either in ignorance or willfully] from Your commandments. Your word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:10-12 Amplified

I finally just came up with a favorite for the day, there are so many, it was hard to choose –
And I will raise up one shepherd over them, and he shall tend them, even my servant David, and he shall be their shepherd;
(Ezekiel 34:23 Brenton) -
Any body else want to share their favorite verse with Julia??

Don’t know if I have an absolute favorite. I find myself saying this one the most: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13

I had to think about this for a bit. There are so many verses that are very meaningful to me. Romans 8:15 & 8:28, Galatians 3:28, Phillipians 4:7, But there are many gold nuggets in the Old Testament that I love as well. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God…[Read more]

Jeremiah is my favorite of the major prophets, Joel is my favorite overall :)

I love that promise…here is another one God gave me many, many years ago.
“But now listen, My servant, whom I have chosen: Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you, ‘Do not fear, My servant; whom I have chosen. ‘For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My…[Read more]

So Lielei and Pop. Sara got a new hamster for her birthday. His name is Leo. He is a very big hamster. It was a birthday present from me. Now let me tell you a story that is kind of funny. (But mom did not think so!) It was a few days after we got the hamster, and me, my mom, and Sara were all upstairs in our room doing homework. Of course Sara…[Read more]

I love that story! You’re a good story-teller. I sure hope the hamster learns to NOT bite when he’s being held. Maybe after he gets used to all of you he will enjoy being held as much as you all enjoy holding him! What is his name?
-
His name is Leo. Dad is still trying to teach him not to bite. I hope it will work soon!:)
-
Wow, Leo sounds like a brat, I thought he was just young, is your Dad flicking him on the nose?
-
He is still really young, and Dad does not flick him on his nose, but that is a good idea.

I am sure Sara must have already had a hamster on her list of “Things that have bitten her” but was that the first time she has bled? I guess she is alright, still has her thumb? Great story Julia. :D
-
She did not have have a hamster on her list, but she bled with lots of other animals.

I surely love your heart for this passage Julia! I took special notice of Exodus 28:36-37 “And you shall make a plate of pure gold. And you shall engrave on it the engravings of a signet: HOLY TO JEHOVAH. “You shall fasten it on a blue cord, and it shall be on the turban; it shall be at the front of the turban.”
So I did some research too, like…[Read more]
