Today is the 7th day of the 7th week of seven weeks. Today is the 49th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath. Today is Sabbath, the 7th Sabbath of seven Sabbaths. Today completes the 7th week of seven weeks.
That first Counting of the Omer, were days of anticipation of what Jehovah was going to do. The three thousand plus years since then we, believers in God, have been remembering what He did then at Sinai and what He did in 32 AD on that fiftieth day, Pentecost, in Jerusalem. This feast, appointed time, gives us the opportunity to draw close to the Creator of the universe. He has made an appointment with us, put it on His calendar, and has said come close so that I may speak with you! That blows me away! I pray we all hear His still small voice—and believe.
The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, so that the people may hear when I speak with you and may also believe in you forever.” Then Moses told the words of the people to the LORD. Exodus 19:9

As the counting of the Omer ends at Pentecost, it is a time to rejoice and give thanks for His Word and The Holy Spirit.
The hundred and twenty in the upper room are waiting–and they realize that they are to be the first to experience the fulfillment of of Jeremiah’s prophecy, remembering the promise Jesus made…they would receive the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. “But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD, ” I will put My commands within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:31-33
If you really love Me, you will keep, obey My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby, that He may remain with you forever–The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, welcome, take to its heart, because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you constantly and will be in you. John 14:16-17
