Even in the Valley by The Silver Pages

The Silver Pages featuring Mona Reeves

Lord, high and holy – meek and lowly,
You have brought me down – to the valley
Where I live in the depths – but see You in the heights
I’m surrounded by mountains of sin</p>
Even in the valley
Shine Your light in my darkness
Even in the valley
Shine Your light

Even in the valley
Shine Your light in my darkness
Even in the valley
Shine Your light

Let me learn that the way up – is the way down
That to bear the cross is to wear the crown
That the broken heart is the healing heart
That the repenting soul is victorious

Even in the valley
Shine Your light in my darkness
Even in the valley
Shine Your light

Even in the valley
Shine Your light in my darkness
Even in the valley
Shine Your light

Even in the valley
Shine Your light in my darkness
Even in the valley
Shine Your light

Even in the valley

the best language of all

November 26, 2019 in Just Thinking...

Martin Luther said –

“The Hebrew language is the best language of all …

If I were younger I would want to learn this language, because no one can really understand the Scriptures without it.

For although the New Testament is written in Greek, it is full of Hebraisms and Hebrew expressions.

It has therefore been aptly said that the Hebrews drink from the spring, the Greeks from the stream that flows from it, and the Latins from a downstream pool.”

The World Behind Me ~ No Turning Back

November 3, 2019 in Sharing Favorite Christian Music

I have decided to follow Jesus:

No turning back.

The world behind me, the cross before me;

No turning back.

Though none go with me, still I will follow;

No turning back.

My cross I’ll carry, till I see Jesus;

No turning back.

Will you decide now to follow Jesus?

No turning back.

The Heart of the Word

August 26, 2019 in Words Mean Things

What follows, I have realized, is my method of Bible study, a way to focus my disjointed thought process. I have noticed when I have what I think is an interesting revelation, while trying to put it down in a readable format,  many times it turns out to be nothing or childish, or wrong a lot of the time. I have started many, many rough drafts and lost steam at some point with them. Not to say that if I finally push the publish button it is outstanding or earth-shattering, or even correct, sometimes I hit the publish button just so I can quit running it over in my head when I am trying to do other things.

I believe that God is forever, eternal, unchanging

And Jehovah descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah. And Jehovah passed by before his face, and proclaimed, “Jehovah! Jehovah, a God’ full of mercy and grace, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth, keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; but that will by no means clear the guilty, ” (Exo 34:5-7 ASV)

One day it hit me listening to the radio, a pastor was preaching to his congregation and he spoke disparagingly about the “Law” He was scoffing at God’s Word.  I realized that I hear pastors do that a lot and I wonder what they are thinking about.

Law = Nomos = Torah = Pentateuch = Books of Moses

Many years ago, I wrote about my first real Bible study and my struggle with the word “Law” and it’s connotation, that post is one of the most popular Google search hits we have, so I guess I am not alone in my wondering.

Is the “Law” the core of the Bible?

What hit me the other day, listening to the radio, is that the first five books, those which God related to Moses, “face to face”,  those five books that the preachers are referring to in a sneering way, ridiculing even, they are the very core of our knowledge of the creator of the universe. God spent forty years with Moses giving His Word to us and now people who call themselves His  ministers, His servants belittle and laugh at what He told us?

I think that the other books in the Bible may be simply commentaries on the first five books! All the books that follow the Law, that come after the Torah, tell us about people forgetting what God told us in the books of Moses or many stories tell us of the realization of some of the prophecy in first five.

God’s instruction manual for life

People like to call the Bible the “manual of instruction for life”, those instructions are in the Law, I believe that Jesus came to reiterate what He had already told Moses.

We read throughout the other books of the Bible, different authors referring to God’s original instructions to Moses and quite often they are referred to by God Himself when He is at His angriest. We only have one place to go to find out what the instructions are, the Pentateuch, the “Law”

Thinking outside the box

I am writing this only to share what I feel, this is not a rant, I am not screaming and I am really not judging, I am struggling to think outside the box.

I don’t think I am better than these Pastors, I feel bad, I wonder if they spent so much effort in college learning what man thinks about God’s word that they have forgotten their first love.

The Love Song to God’s Law

There are too many verses in the Bible that I could put here to illustrate what I am thinking, so I will just share a few.

The longest chapter of the Bible, Psalm 119 has been referred to as “The love song to God’s Torah”, the first verse:

Aleph. Blessed are they that are blameless in the way, Who walk in the Law, the Torah of Jehovah.
(Psa 119:1)

In Proverbs, Solomon says:

Those who forsake the Law,  praise the wicked, — but those who keep the law, strive against them.
(Pro 28:4 ESV)

In Isaiah, God tells us what “law” is, and how He feels when we reject it:

Because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts;
despised the Word of the Holy One of Israel.
On this account, the anger of Jehovah has burned against His people,
He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them down.
(Isa 5:24-25)

Daniel Prayed:

As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet have we not entreated the favor of Jehovah our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in thy truth.
(Dan 9:13 ASV)

Jeremiah tells us God said:

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Jehovah: I will put My Law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people:
(Jer 31:33 ASV)

The last book in what is referred to as the Hebrew Bible ends with this by Jehovah on His Law:

“Remember the Law of My servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel. “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of Jehovah comes. And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”
(Mal 4:4-6)

And when God came to speak in person, Matthew tells us He said:

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.“
(Mat 5:16-20 NASB)

How can any pastor, anyone, speak ill of God’s Law when Jesus said” “Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven “

Then after we crucified God, after we killed Him,  Paul calls “lawlessness” the opposite of righteousness and equates it with darkness and unbelief

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
(2Co 6:14-15 ESV)

The Law of Gravity

In the years since I wrote about the connotation of the word “Law” a person commented on the original post mentioning “the law of gravity” That is a connotation I really like.

I think that the Law of God is like the Law of gravity. God’s Law is Truth. Any laws that men write, any realities that men invent, if they aren’t in line with what God told us, they are not truth, they are lies that man wants to worship instead of God’s Truth.

There shall be one Torah, it shall be both for the native, and for the stranger who sojourns among you.”
(Exo 12:49)

One last thought

I heard the Pastor on the radio in September of 2018, that is when I started thinking and writing about this. Today is August 26, 2019, I finally decided to push the ‘publish’ button because the other day I heard another of Solomon’s proverbs quoted:

One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination.
(Pro 28:9 NewKJV)

But please let me know what you think in the comments at the bottom.

Blessed are the PeaceMakers

December 29, 2018 in Featured, Just Thinking...

Since we moved to paradise, North Idaho, I have noticed that we all complain so much that I think it has become second nature. In the summer it rarely goes above 90 degrees here, yet everyone complains about the heat. In 3 years in this small town I haven’t seen a traffic jam, but  people complain about the traffic, when they  have to wait a minute or two to make a left turn, including me.

An interesting thing I learned, in Hebrew the word peace, shalom, is often a verb, an action word. Maybe we don’t sit around praying for peace, maybe we go out and act in ways that promote it.

I read a book recently that really hit me, “Unoffendable”. A really short version of the theme of this book might be, “show your light by not getting offended”.

But I think we should also do our best not to go out and be offensive.

In our youth we used to listen to a radio show with psychiatrist Dr Laura. People would call about their circumstances and they would be certain that confronting someone close to them was the right thing to do, and quite often Dr Laura’s response would be, something to the effect, “to what end?” “What good can possibly come of it? or, will it more than likely cause more heart ache? then why bring it up?”

I guess  the opposite of making peace is sowing misery, dissension, drama or maybe just moaning about our circumstances

This preaching video our son turned us on to really got me thinking more about this.

Peacemakers are called son’s of God

Light exposes darkness and we are called to let our light so shine.

The enemy’s whole plan is to keep you self-conscious, self-focused, to hinder the light.

Oh, –  get you to church, serve in a ministry, pay your tithes faithfully

But – don’t  Shine

You can do all those things but it won’t change the world, but when you shine people see – when you shine people see!

When you shine – Darkness is exposed!

It’s not about your circumstances going cookie-cutter perfect. It’s not about your ducks in a row.

It’s about, –  do you shine when things are going wrong?, do you shine when in trial?, do you shine in injustice?

Are you a Peacemaker? cause Peacemakers are son’s of God!

Not those who confess sonship, but those who make peace!

Three Thousand Baptized!

May 28, 2018 in Counting the Omer, Going Deeper...

I mentioned in an earlier post that I have been studying baptism for a long while. I have tried to find every time baptism is mention in the Bible.

I often wonder about the day of Pentecost. Where were “they”?

And when they got back to Jerusalem, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. In those days Peter stood up among the brothers, the company of persons was in all about 120. (Act 1:13-15 ESV)

Do these passages mean that the upper room was big enough that 120 people were staying there?

Or is this room even big enough for them to have a meeting in there?

The Day of First Fruits

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
(Act 2:1-4 ESV)

“They” are all together in one place? the upper room? All 120?

“A mighty rushing wind filled the whole house they where they were sitting”, to me that sure sounds like “they” were indoors, Again the twelve? or the 120? or some other number of brethren?

So the city is full of believers in Jehovah who have come, according to His Word, to Jerusalem for First Fruits, and they hear –

And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.
(Act 2:6 ESV)

Did the multitude hear the “sound like a mighty rushing wind”? or did they hear 120 people speaking in tongues? or the twelve speaking in tongues?

I have many questions. But I am pretty positive as the crowd grew into the thousands that Peter must have been speaking outdoors or possibly at the Temple?

They are pierced to the heart

Now when they heard this they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
(Act 2:37-38 ESV)

Where in downtown Jerusalem did the baptism of three thousand people happen?

“Within a year of Israel winning the Six Day War, Benjamin Mazar began a ten-year excavation period from 1968 to 1978. He represented Hebrew University and the Israel Exploration Society. He focused on the area southwest and south of the Temple Mount.”

South of the Temple Mount discoveries have been made from the second Temple period including a monumental staircase that led into the temple area, over forty baths (miqveh), are grouped around this stairway, it is said that pilgrims used these to purify themselves in order to enter the Temple.

There are mikveh of this same design being found all over Israel with what appears to be a divider in the middle of the stairs. They think that you enter one way ritually unclean and leave purified, symbolically not encountering the water on the side you entered on.

The only modern baptismal I have seen was in a church I was involved in remodeling, it had two staircases, one from each side, one for the preacher to go in and one for the convert to go down in, where they met in the middle.

I wonder if these mikveh made before Jesus may have been designed this way to accommodate the lines of the large number of pilgrims that came to Jerusalem three times a year according to the Word of God, all needing purification before entering the House of God.

Where in downtown Jerusalem did Peter give his Acts 2 sermon, speaking in tongues, impressing the Pentecostal visitors so dramatically that “they were pierced to the heart” and immediately immersed themselves in the water of John’s baptism and received immersion in the Holy Spirit?

Where was Peter speaking? on the south stairway?

The same stairway and the same mikveh where Peter, all of the twelve and Jesus must have purified themselves here the many times Jesus went to the Temple to teach?

What do you think?

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Forty Six ~ The Lord’s Special Treasure

May 23, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 23rd 2018

Today is the 4th day of the 7th week of seven weeks. Today is the 46th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Original Post May 23rd 2012

2 Sivan 1313 BC

This is the day that God told Israel that they were “his chosen people”, Moses went up the mountain for further instructions and God told him …..

“Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.
And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

With these few verses he tells them and of course all of us that are reading his words thousands of years later, that all of the people of the earth are his, since he is the “Creator”, but he wants the Israelites to be his “special treasure” and if they will keep his covenant, he would be pleased to value and esteem them.

They agree unanimously and immediately, who wouldn’t…..

Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” – Exo 19

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Forty Five ~ Of One Heart

May 22, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 22nd 2018

Today is the 3rd day of the 7th week of seven weeks. Today is the 45th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Original Post May 22nd 2012

1 Sivan 1313 BC

On the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone forth out of the land of Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai, and there Israel pitched their tents over against the mount.  – Exo 19:1-2

It is hard to write about this day in our journey through history, it is known as a day when nothing happened –

[On the first of Sivan] Moses did not say anything at all to the Jewish people, since they were weary from the journey. –Talmud

But I found a commentary by a Hebrew theologian where he analyzes the original Hebrew words in the verses:

…..note the grammatically unconventional use of the singular vayichan (“and he camped,” rather than vayachanu, “and they camped”) in speaking of the entire Jewish people.  the Torah wishes to inform us that “they camped as a single man, with a single heart, unlike all other encampments, which were accompanied by dissent and dispute.” – Rashi

The Israelites had known since Moses the Deliverer arrived in Egypt, where they were going and they knew that their deliverance was to be more than just a physical freedom from the bondage they had endured but a whole new relationship with the Lord. After grumbling and murmuring their way across the desert they know that they have arrived in the shadow of the mount of God and that they need to establish a camp that was “as a single man with a single heart.”

So come to find out the children of Jacob are doing the exact same thing on 1 Sivan 1313 BC as the disciples of Jesus were doing on 1 Sivan 31 AD in the upper room. Gathered, waiting and praying, united, of one mind, of one heart…..

These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. – Act 1:14

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Forty Four ~ Honor Thy Father-in-Law

May 21, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 21st 2018

Today is the 2nd day of the 7th week of seven weeks. Today is the 44th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Original Post May 21st 2012

28 Ziv 1313 BC

Moses takes some time out of his busy schedule for some family time –

Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel His people, how the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt. Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness where he was encamped at the mountain of God.  And when he sent word to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her,” Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and kissed him. And they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.  Then Moses told his father-in-law all that the LORD had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardship that had come upon them in the way, and how the LORD had delivered them. And Jethro rejoiced for all the good that the LORD had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.

Moses always seems to respect his father-in-law, he even asked his permission before leaving on God’s mission to deliver the children of Jacob. Now Moses rushes out to welcome him, he bows down to him and kisses him, his reception for his wife’s father is reminiscent of Joseph’s welcome to his father Israel when he arrived in Egypt Gen 46:29

We are also reminded here that Jethro is a priest, must be a pagan priest, worshiping pagan gods.  What did this nomad hear while he was tending his flocks and his family, that the newly escaped Israelites had defeated the mighty Amalek, or the big miracle, our Lord’s parting of the Red Sea.

It is said by Hebrew theologians that Jethro thought that there were two gods: one who does evil and one who does good. Then he heard about Moses’ God who both drowned the Egyptians and saved the Children of Israel at the same time with one blow of the wind, he realized that the same One performs evil and good.

So this idolatrous priest came to convert, he tells Moses –

“Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all gods, because he delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians, when they dealt arrogantly with them.”
And Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, offered a burnt offering and sacrifices to God; and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Moses’ father-in-law before God.  Exo 18

Do you think that Moses’ witness, his respectful countenance, had anything to do with Jethro’s conversion, or was it all due to the miracles?

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Forty One ~ WOW

May 18, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 18th 2018

Today is the 6th day of the 6th week of seven weeks. Today is the 41st day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

So, only nine days till Pentecost!

Original Post May 18th 2012

25  Ziv / Iyyar 31 AD

Jesus’  friends have been hanging around with him, resurrected from the dead, this LONG!?!

When Lei and I had this Idea about a month before we started counting, 50 days seemed like nothing, I can’t remember now how many days we were doing it, like day thirteen? Could it really have only been 13 days? OK, maybe it was 20 days in, I was seriously surprised at how hard it was to post everyday, we keep saying we need to get on top of it and get some posts written in advance.

So, real early on, Lei started to run out of “appearances” to write about, and that is when I realized, “Jesus HAD BEEN ON EARTH—RESURRECTED–ALL THIS TIME.” I have read about the appearances in the gospels and I guess it just seemed like a short time, but,  IT WAS FORTY DAYS,  come to find out that is a real long time if you are paying attention, like I assume his followers were.

I know there hasn’t been a lot of people following our count, my brother Larry is the only one I know of, but does it seem like forever that you have been thinking “oh my gosh are they still doing that??!!”

How many times have you gone to the gas station since Easter?

How many times have you gone to the post office?

How many paychecks have you cashed?

So it has seemed like forever to me, while we have been “counting” but I’m sure, at the time, the disiples thought that is was TOO short of a time, maybe that is why when I read their writings I get that impression.

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Thirty Nine ~ Why do you tempt the Lord?

May 16, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 16th 2018 – by Randy

Today is the 4th day of the 6th week of seven weeks. Today is the 39th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Another story of murmuring and in my devotional this morning Oswald Chambers breaks it down to: complaining is the worship of yourself!

The Habit of Recognizing God & His Provision

What does it matter if external circumstances are hard? Why should they not be! If we give way to self-pity and indulge in the luxury of misery, we banish God’s riches from our own lives and hinder others from entering into His provision. No sin is worse than the sin of self-pity, because it obliterates God and puts self-interest upon the throne. It opens our mouths to spit out murmurings and our lives become craving spiritual sponges, there is nothing lovely or generous about them. – Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest May 16th

Original Post may 16th 2012

23 Ziv 1313 BC

Oh man when are they gonna get it!?!?!?!

Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?”  And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, “Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” Exo 17:1-3

I think Moses is going to lose it this time…..

So Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me!” And the Lord said to Moses, “Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel. Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go.  Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. Exo 17:4-6

I think this whole thing is as much a trial for Moses as it is the ungrateful whining Israelites that he is hanging around with. I sure haven’t forgotten that he told the Lord he couldn’t and or didn’t want to do this, I feel for him. It’s kinda weird that I would, he is one of the two most important prophets in the history of man…

Counting Pentecost ~ Day Thirty Eight ~ Today is a Sabbath to the LORD

May 15, 2018 in Counting the Omer

Update May 15th 2018 – by Randy

Today is the 3rd day of the 6th week of seven weeks. Today is the 38th day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

A gift from God

In rereading, something from the Chuck Smith quote below caught my eye “The Sabbath was made for man. God made it for man to give the body a chance to just sort of recuperate.”

Six years ago I assumed Chuck was referring to Jesus saying that the Sabbath was made for man, this time I noticed the Exodus 16 quote that Chuck was commenting on, and Jehovah says right there that the Sabbath rest day is His gift to man. So I guess when Jesus says it, He is quoting Himself.

“See, for that Jehovah hath given you the Sabbath, therefore He giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” (Exo 16:29 ASV)

So the Israelites continue to learn on this day, like doubting Thomas….

Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the LORD; today you will not find it in the field.   “Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.”  It came about on the seventh day that some of the people went out to gather, but they found none.  Exo 16:25-27

It is said that the idea of a day of rest was known to them before this, but it is sure that as slaves they weren’t getting a day off, since the Egyptians weren’t taking one.  I have heard that the fact that the Jews took one day in seven off from work is one of the things that made them stand out and separated them from the rest of the world from the beginning.

But our Lord wasn’t into excuses….

Then the LORD said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My instructions?  “See, the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you bread for two days on the sixth day. Remain every man in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
…..So the people rested on the seventh day. Exo 16:28-30

Chuck Smith Says:

Now the Lord said, “Six days shalt thou labour and do thy work, but the seventh day is a day of rest.” God said, “I have given you the Sabbath.” The Sabbath was made for man. God made it for man to give the body a chance to just sort of recuperate. The idea was just stay in bed, rest, do nothing. It wasn’t really get up and go to Sabbath school, or go to synagogue, or whatever. It was just stay in bed and rest on the Sabbath day. I don’t know, but what that wouldn’t be a good idea.
To this day traditional Jewish Sabbath dinners have two loaves of bread on the table to remember.

How do you observe it?
