Counting Pentecost ~ Day Forty Three ~ One Mind

Update May 20th 2018 ~ by Leilani

Today is the 1st day of the 7th week of seven weeks. Today is the 43rd day of the counting of fifty days from the day of the waving of the Omer on the morrow after the Sabbath.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. When they had entered the city, they went up to the upper room where they were staying; that is, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Act 1:12-14

His brothers. The sons of Joseph and Mary. One of them, James, was afterwards the James of Jerusalem and the author of the Epistle of James. See Acts 15; also Matt 13:55. They were unbelievers six months before (John 7:5), but now believed. James had seen the risen Lord 1 Cor 15:7.  – The People’s New Testament (1891) by B. W. Johnson

Wow never caught that before…that His brothers didn’t believed before the crucifixion and resurrection. To me that is another proof that no matter how many miracles people see, if they are not willing to humble themselves and repent—they cannot and will not see (in their spirit) God here on earth. Eventually every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord! It also says volumes about the power of the crucifixion and resurrection. We would do well to remember that when sharing our faith…it is the power of God that saves. Jesus knew and quoted the Scriptures perfectly, His brothers were raised by the same parents that taught them all the Scriptures. Jesus said everything perfectly, did everything perfectly—and yet many walked away, even his brothers, as a matter of fact few find the Way. Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:44

A Sabbath-day’s journey, according to Jewish tradition, was about three-quarters of a mile. It was the supposed distance between the camp and the tabernacle in the wilderness (Jos 3:4). Vincent’s Word Studies

Does this make witnessing easier or harder??
