Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 63
A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God; I earnestly seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You, as in a dry and weary land without water. Therefore I have seen you in the holy place, seeing Your power and Your glory. For Your loving-kindness is better than life; my lips give praise to You. So I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied, as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips, when I remember You upon my bed. I will meditate on You in the night watches. For You have been a help to me, and I will rejoice under the shadow of Your wings. My soul is cleaved after You; Your right hand upholds me. And those who seek to destroy my life shall go into the depths of the earth. They shall pour him out by the sword; they shall be a serving for jackals. But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him shall glory, because the mouth of the one speaking a lie will be stopped.
Psalm 69:1-3,16
To the chief musician. Concerning the Lilies. Of David. Save me, O God, for the waters have come in to my soul. I sink in deep mire, and there is no standing; I have come into deep waters where the floods overflow me. I am weary from my crying, my throat is scorched; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. Hear me, O Jehovah, for Your mercy is good; in the plentitude of Your tender mercies, turn toward me.
Psalm 86:15-16
But You, O God, are God, full of pity; and gracious, longsuffering and rich in mercy and truth. O turn to me and be gracious to me; give Your strength to Your servant, and save the son of Your handmaid.
Psalm 109:21-27
But You, O Jehovah the Lord, work with me for Your name’s sake; deliver me because Your mercy is good. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is pierced within me. As a shadow when it stretches out, I am gone; I am shaken off like the locust. My knees stumble from fasting, and my flesh grows lean from fatness. And I have become a reproach to them; they looked at me; they shook their heads. O Jehovah my God, help me; save me according to Your mercy; and they will know that this is Your hand; that You, O Jehovah, have done it.
Psalm 119:41,50,52,76,132
By Your Word, according to Your salvation, let Your mercies come to me, O Jehovah. This is my comfort in my affliction; for Your Word has given me life. I remembered Your judgments from of old, O Jehovah, and I take comfort. Please let Your mercy be for my comfort, by Your Word to Your servant. Turn to me and favor me, as is the way to those who love Your name.
Matthew 5:4
Blessed are they that mourn : for they shall be comforted.
2 Corinthians 1:3,4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
