  • I don’t fully understand Paul’s point either. What I do understand is that “the law” isn’t sinful or insufficient. What man fails to see is the sin that we commit beyond the words of the law.

Paul chose the sin covetousness when he described his own conviction. That being a sin of the mind. What we fail to remember is hating our brother is…[Read more]

  • Romans 7:7 NKJV Says “I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said ‘You shall not covet.’ ”

I believe we absolutely need to use the guidance of the old testament law. But, we have to remember that adherence to the law does not save us. Jesus did that with his blood.

    You…[Read more]

  • After I typed this post I immediately thought about deleting it. I wondered if it was a valid point of view. What I see in scripture often seems strange compared to what others see and it worries me. I’m happy that it might have been useful in some way. Thank you for your comments.

John the baptist had just been executed.
Jesus attempted to retreat to be alone (probably to mourn), but the crowds followed him.
Moved with compassion for them, He received them. Preached the kingdom of […]

    • Shelly, Wow! Thank you for “sharing” that. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that perspective before. It is just what I needed to hear. I’m thanking and praising God for giving me the ears to hear it!

    • As I read this, there was picture on the cover of a cardboard children’s book that we as kids had, in amongst all the “stuff” in the “playroom”, popped into my head, it was of a very little boy with his eyes down holding up the fishes and loaves. And yet I never heard anything like this before, him giving all he had, but now that you bring it up I feel dumb for never noticing. Awesome!

I had to think about this for a bit. There are so many verses that are very meaningful to me. Romans 8:15 & 8:28, Galatians 3:28, Phillipians 4:7, But there are many gold nuggets in the Old Testament that I love as well. Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God…[Read more]

I thought it was just me, not knowing how to use the program. I noticed my comment appeared different than Randy’s. I thought maybe I had not posted in the right place. At any rate,I guess we will all learn together.

To me the verses are out of order, I think verse 6 has more to do with 7-11. The gifts Jesus talks about are not worldy things (things bought with money) they are, I think, the gifts of wisdom, knowledge and salvation. Verse 6 is telling us not to take this offer for granted, and don’t throw it away or make light of it. For whatever reason the…[Read more]

    • Glad to see you found us, as you can see we are just starting this thing and the software that we are using isn’t really ready for primetime. We are trying to get some bugs worked out and figure out how it works still.

Lei wanted to try this cause she has been the one that family members tend to call when they have a “question”, we haven’t really…[Read more]
