The site of the Tabernacle and the Ark was something that was dynamic, meaning that while the Israelites were wandering, wherever the cloud would land in the desert, that was the place they would set up the Tabernacle, which had the Ark in it. Once they came into the land, the Tabernacle remained mobile and would be for a time be at Shiloh, for a time it would be at Shechem, and then for a time it would be at Bethel, and possibly other locations, as well. ~ Nehemia Gordon
